Uncle Rico & Cranberry Present: The American Dream

In the wake of the 2024 election results, many people,

including LGBTQ+ individuals, have been left in fear of their rights being gutted under the Republican plan “Project 2025”. With the now far-right-leaning party’s aim to remove protections for the queer community under the guise of restoring,

American family values, I sought out to challenge the narrative of “The American Dream” with one of my own. The true

“American Dream” is the freedom to be. With a tongue and cheek illusion of a hetero-normaive couple, I, along with a close friend, shot this series. Drag has always been political. It is

important to remember that many Americans would not have the freedoms they do without the help of the Transgender and Drag

community.
